Amshas

A partial avatar. In Hinduism, this is the descent of a god into the world for the span of one lifetime. A Hindu god can incarnate itself in several places at the same time by using several partial avatars, called Amshas. The god remains complete, and can converse with any of the Amshas at will. An avatar experiences human suffering like the average person, yet they don't lose the knowledge or power of their divine nature. The god Vishnu had many avatars, including: Krishna, Rama and Buddha.
